The ingenuity drone, a part of the Mars Perseverance mission, today made its first flight.
This flight came after a few weeks of delay, during which its software was patched.
This is the first flight of a human-made drone on a planet other than earth.
It remained airborne for 30 seconds and reached a height of 30 feet.
The first flight of this drone was automated, and not controlled by Jet Propulsion Laboratory(JPL), the agency at NASA which built it.
